A group station can assess listening, collaboration and reasoning as well as the final answer. Contribution is broader than airtime. Clarifying the task, connecting ideas and noticing an overlooked concern can all improve the team's work.
How to discuss it in Med interview
Agree the aim and time available. Offer a concise idea with a reason, invite other views and build on what people say. If disagreement persists, compare options against agreed criteria. Summarise progress and check whether quieter members want to add anything without putting them under pressure.
Put it into words
We seem to agree on the first priority but have two options for the second. Could we compare them against patient benefit and feasibility, then leave a minute to check our conclusion?
Common pitfalls
Dominating, assigning yourself authority immediately, ignoring the task or performing inclusion without listening to the response.
